Pigs came by plane
The Dewisons came by car
Mamos came by skateboard
And we all met at the bar!
Left to Right: Helen, Janette, Dewi, Cal, Mamos, Craig
As usual there was lots to see at SignUK and more importantly a lot of good friends to meet. A full day walking round the show was hard on the legs but Mamos had the right idea,
We all know Cal loves Dewi very much - could this be the reason Cal?
Anyone with any idea of Dewi's "Special Features" - please let us know.
The bar seemed to have a magnetic appeal and drew signmakers from all over. It was great to meet up with so many friends including, Andy & Janette, Dewi & Cal, Mamos and Jules, Craig, Steve Broughton, Andrew Malcolm, Mike Grant, Peter and Lynne Normington, John Singh, Dave Rowland, the lovely folk from The Transfer Press, and Derek from Signworld magazine to name but a few.
We were at the show for a full 7 hours and still didn't quite manage to see it all as every few yards custard - lovers extended a hand to greet us. We were pleasantly surprised by the reception we received both from fellow signmakers and the many suppliers who are aware of the site and visit regularly. A big thankyou to all who contribute regularly and make the site the success it has become.
There was a lot you could spend your money on (some of which you'd a lottery win for). The routers seemed to be very popular and there was plenty of variety to look at, so too the heat presses and embroidery machines. However, there was also a range of low cost innovative ideas such as the scrolling vertical banners from around £35 - see below
For those who didn't make it - it's worth making the effort for next year as it's much more than just trade stands, meeting up with fellow signmakers and cementing friendships is now a big part of the show.
See you there in 2007! _________________ James Kelly
